"Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want"
(Morrissey/Marr)

These words are transcribed without permission the way they appear in the "Hatful Of Hollow" album. Additions to the printed lyrics are in darker text while omissions are striken out.

Good times for a change
See, the luck I've had
would can make a good man
turn bad

So please please please
let me, let me, let me
let me get what I want 1
this time

Haven't had a dream in a long time
See, the life I've had
would can make a good man bad

So for once in my life
let me get what I want 1
Lord knows it would be the first time
Lord knows it would be the first time 2

Note: Because this song is under 2 minutes long, when it was performed live in 1984, 1985, 2006, 2007-2008 and 2009, Morrissey repeated the last seven lines above to extend it. He didn't do this for the harder electric arrangement of the song from 2002.

1 In all solo live performances of this song from 2006 to 2008 (bar perhaps once) Morrissey sang "let me have who I want" instead of "let me get what I want".

2 From 2006 to 2008 this line was sometimes changed to "Lord knows it would be impossible" or something similar.
