This concert was going to be held at the University of Nottingham but the venue was changed to Rock City as it could hold more people. The gig was quite successful, everything went down very well with the crowd.

After standard set opener "Hand In Glove" Morrissey told the crowd "That's (?) Nottingham..." After "Girl Afraid" an audience member shouted for "This Charming Man" and, as that song was the next planned one, Morrissey replied "Somebody knows the set..." The latter number got the biggest cheer of the night. After it Morrissey asked "So what's next?". He might have been teasing the person who seemed to know the setlist. "Still Ill" was introduced with the words "This song's about being ill..."

The version of "Barbarism Begins At Home" done on this date was a surprisingly short one. Following "Back To The Old House" Morrissey said "Ah thank you Nottingham, very nice..." When the band returned to the stage after a short break Morrissey asked the audience "What should we do? Okay, 'You've Got Everything Now'..." Both Morrissey and Johnny had a bit of fun with the second helping of "Hand In Glove". Johnny improvised a few lines in the intro, while Morrissey changed the melody of a few lines.

Tickets were £3.00 in advance.

A good-ish audience recording of the complete concert is being traded between collectors. Two different transfers of this are found on the internet. The best one, from a second generation tape, features the full set. The other was transfered from a higher generation tape and only features the first nine songs.
