This was an incredible concert. Morrissey seemed to be in great spirits and the Japanese fans were very enthusiastic, certainly very happy that Morrissey was visiting their country. Many of them managed to get on stage, sometimes helped by Morrissey. The man even found himself into the pit early in the show while trying to pull someone to him.

The setlist was similar to what it had been on the recent dates opening for David Bowie, but because he could play a full set, Morrissey added a few songs to the setlist, such as "You're The One For Me, Fatty", "Suedehead" and "Shoplifters Of The World Unite". However part-timers "Hold On To Your Friends" and "Now My Heart Is Full" as well as the lesser known "Nobody Loves Us" were not performed.

Morrissey greeted the crowd with "Hello Tokyo!". After "Spring-Heeled Jim" he said "I wish I could say something funny in Japanese, but I don't know Japanese". Besides that he wasn't very talkative, but the look on his face showed that he was happy with the reaction he was getting. At the end of "The National Front Disco", he removed his shirt, wiped his sweat with it and threw it into the crowd before escaping offstage. He returned to perform two encore songs, something he hadn't done in a long time.
