This final date of Morrissey's residency at the Hollywood Palladium, which was also the venue's final concert before being closed down, was an excellent one. Morrissey looked happy, he was very playful and energetic. Perhaps for the first time in this residency there were no sound problems (despite Morrissey complaining at some point that he wasn't in tune). Morrissey's musicians had painted on black eyes. The crowd was energetic as well, and very responsive. They sang along to many of their favourite songs, and Morrissey sometimes stopped singing and let them carry on. Some fans felt a lull in the last third of the show, but the energy pickep up again for the encore when a bunch of them crowd surfed to the front and tried to get on stage. It must be said that, this being the last show at the Palladium, many fans were expecting a surprise, which obviously they didn't get.

Again for the benefit of the fans who were seeing multiple shows Morrissey completely resequenced the setlist and changed a good portion of its content. The following songs returned: "In The Future When All's Well", "The Loop", "London", "Human Being", "Shoplifters Of The World Unite", "All You Need Is Me", "One Day Goodbye Will Be Farewell", "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris" and "I Will See You In Far Off Places". To make space, these were dropped: "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before", "You Have Killed Me", "I Just Want To See The Boy Happy", "Disappointed", "The National Front Disco", "Girlfriend In A Coma", "Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want", "Ganglord", "Let Me Kiss You" and "Dear God Please Help Me". "The Youngest Was The Most Loved" was planned, but it was skipped.

Morrissey was originally scheduled to play 10 dates in this residency, but two had been cancelled because of a burst water pipe. So at some point into the show he joked that they had a close call with another burst water pipe. The fans laughed, and Morrissey asked "Is that funny?" After "I Like You" he thanked his irregular regulars ie the fans who were seeing many shows, with the line "Thank you to all the familiar chubby faces who (crowd cheers)... we can rely on... thank you to the people of the Hollywood Palladium for not shooting me... next time!" When he introduced his musicians he started by saying that he had finally put together the best band. Before or after "All You Need Is Me" he asked the fans if they had watched his appearance on the Carson Daly show the night before when he had performed the latter number.

During "Sister I'm A Poet" Morrissey took an Elvis Presley LP handed to him by a fan and now and then during the song he would put the record in front of his face and pretend that it was Elvis on the cover singing. He actually changed a line to "Sister I'm a, Elvis I'm a, all over this town". Further into the song he did another line in a Elvis sort of drawl. After the song he asked "Are you (?) (crowd cheers)... you know that means nothing..." He punctuated the line "and do you think you've made the right decision this time?" in "London" with a shout of "Me? No!" After that song he said something, then added "...except humans!" At various points in the show he poked fun at the locals. He mentioned something being "dumbass" and said in an American accent. He used the word "plausible" and asked the crowd if they knew what the word meant. He also mock-stuttered.

Morrissey had his traditional chat with fans in the front rows. He asked one fan what does one call a man with a womb. The fan who was handed the microphone answered "a woman" and Morrissey approved. He said something equally cryptic about his opening act Kristeen Young mentioning something about encouraging nudity during her show. He either apologised for it, or said that he didn't approve. He changed the final line in "One Day Goodbye Will Be Farewell" to "so goose me while you still have the time". As the end of the show was approaching he mentioned that their little wagon was trundling off to Salt Lake City and the audience booed. He said that Salt Lake City was more or less "...just like L.A." and made a crack about Los Angeles' suburb Glendale.

When Morrissey and the band returned to the stage for the encore, Morrissey wasn't the only one to have changed into a fresh shirt. All five musicians were dressed in Chivas soccer team's jerseys. The encore was very hectic. People all around were crowd surfing and trying to make their way to the front. At the front people were trying to make it over the barrier, or at least get a handshake from Morrissey. The man was stretching left and right trying to touch as many hands as possible, he even managed to pull a few people up. Through it all he was panting and having a difficult time keeping up with the lyrics, and adlibbed many tiny bits. At the end of the song he threw his shirt into the audience as he almost always did, but each of the musicians also threw their Chivas jerseys into the crowd.

No significant audio or video recordings of this show are to be found on bootlegs at this point in time. One audience recording of the complete or near-complete concert has been reported, but it has not made it to common circulation yet.

Some footage of this date (source unknown) has been included on a bootleg 2-DVD set featuring material from all Morrissey shows at the Palladium in October 2007.

Were you there? Do you have a recording of this concert? If yes please information and be credited.
