Promotion:
UK: This single was promoted in the UK with the help of the fourth in a series of promo 12"s in glossy record bags of different colour. The one for this single was slipped inside a red sleeve (EMI 12POPDJ1621; view left). A very limited version of the etched 12" mentioned above, this one slipped inside a black die-cut sleeve and numbered SPM29, served more limited and more specific promotional purposes (view left). One-track promo videos were also distributed by EMI/Chop'Em Out.

Canada: Gold-stamped copies of the 12" single were used for promotion.

Germany: The release of "Interesting Drug" was promoted in Germany with the inclusion of the title track on the various artists promo double-cd set titled "EMI Hot Shots Nr 7".

Italy: Copies of the 12" and also perhaps the 7", pin-stamped with the words "Campione Gratuito", were sent to media/retail for promotion.

Japan: Promo cds have a promo sticker on them and promo-only text etched on the cd's inner ring.

USA: Gold-stamped copies of the 12" single were used for promotion. The title track was included on volume 2 of Reprise's "Follow Our Trax" various artists series of promo LPs (PRO-A-3655). The video for "Interesting Drug" was included on a various artist Warner compilation as well as an issue of the various artists ETV promo video series and the July 1989 issue of the Rockamerica various artists promo videos series .
